What’s a challenge/match gift? A match gift is one that matches other’s gifts dollar-for-dollar. A challenge gift is one that is unlocked when a college, department, program, or school reaches a goal.
• Match Example - The next 75 gifts to the School of Engineering will be matched, dollar for dollar.
• Challenge Example - If the Women’s Swim and Diving Team receives a $1,000 in gifts from others, it will unlock an additional $5,000 gift for the team.
Challenges and matches bring a sense of urgency and competitiveness to the day and inspire other donors to make a gift. These specific donors are critical in ensuring the success of UNM Big Give.
